About this role
At Novocarbo, we work as a team to accelarate the economy’s transformation to NetZero: Our goal is to store 100 million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere in Biochar-based products.

We are one of the largest producers and distributors of Biochar in Europe and sell our Carbon Removal Credits to renowned companies worldwide. Several new production sites for our Biochar and Green Energy are already in the pipeline. To continue this positive momentum, we are looking for a Business Development Manager (all genders) for our Business Unit Industrial Materials. This role is the main architect of our existing and potential partnerships for industrial biochar applications.
Following tasks are in focus of your role
  • You are point of contact for our existing customers and development partners from various industries.
  • You identify new customers in existing and emerging national and international biochar-related markets.
  • You explore partnerships for biochar-based additives in industrial applications (i.e. construction materials, reducing agents or high-tech applications).
  • You set up and drive development projects with external and internal stakeholders, i.e. Product Management, Research & Development, Process Engineering and Carbon Accounting.
  • You translate customer needs into technical specifications and quality parameters to drive development of Novocarbo’s products.
  • You develop sales strategies and sales structures to enter existing and new markets with innovative products.

Your profile
These are your professional qualifications we’d appreciate:
  • You have a university degree in the field of business administration, business engineering or similar.
  • Alternatively, you have at least 3 years of relevant working experience in environmental technology, sustainability, or in the chemical or steel industry.
  • You have broad experience in project management as well as industrial and / or B2B sales.
  • You are highly motivated to see your impact and develop yourself constantly alongside your team and Novocarbo.
  • You communicate fluently in German and English. Any other language is a plus.
  • You have a high IT-tool affinity: we mainly work with MS 365 and Notion.

  • You have a good understanding of complex environments and growing industries, such as the Carbon Removal and Biochar Market.
  • You bring in a high level of accountability and willingness to drive our projects to success.
  • You use a strong, data-driven and analytical mindset to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics as well as identifying and solving problems.
  • Your appearance is professional with a high degree of customer and service orientation.
  • Working in a team motivates you and sharing success is what you strive for.
  • You have a driver’s license (B-class) and are open to occasional business travel (Germany and EU).
