At Novocarbo, we work as a team to solve one of the most important problems of our time: our goal is to store 100 million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere annually, making a significant contribution to achieving climate goals.

We are one of the largest producers and distributors of biochar in Europe and sell our Carbon Removal Credits to renowned companies worldwide. Several new sites for the production of biochar and regenerative heat are already in planning. To continue this positive momentum, we are looking for a Business Controller (all genders). This position is a key role in supporting our mission by optimizing financial data and processes, enabling informed decisions that pave the way for a more sustainable future.
Following tasks are in focus of your role
  1. Financial Planning & Analysis:
    • Contribute to long-term financial planning for the entire Novocarbo Group, managing assumptions in financing models and capital allocation.
    • Support the overall Novocarbo team with financial analysis, modeling, and business case development.
    • Collaborate on variance analysis, identify areas for improvement, and actively participate in initiatives aimed at refining financial processes.
    • Utilize your analytical skills to delve into financial data, crafting reports for management review and supporting informed decision-making across the organization.
  2. Reporting & Process Optimization:
    • Ensure all managerial business analysis, planning, and reporting are aligned and efficient, optimizing processes and procedures.
    • Translate accounting data into clear reports and actively monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
    • Identify and mitigate business risks through proactive risk management strategies and processes.
  3. Collaboration & Project Work:
    • Participate in the implementation of our new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
    • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment of financial objectives and contributing to the overall organizational success.
    • Participate in important ad-hoc projects that require Finance and Controlling skills.
Your profile
These are your professional qualifications we’d appreciate:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance or Controlling, preferably in an international environment with experience in business, project, and/or production controlling. Financial Controlling experience is a plus.
  • Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Studies, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling. Prior experience with Power BI is desired.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Dynamics 365 experience is desirable.
  • Fluent English communication skills are a must. Strong German skills are a plus.
