About this role
Novocarbo is one of Europe’s leading biochar carbon removal companies. We produce and trade biochar at industrial scale, combining permanent carbon storage with practical applications in construction, agriculture, and energy. Through our carbon removal credits, we enable companies worldwide to measurably achieve their climate targets.
As Carbon Removal Manager, you will be at the intersection of sales, carbon accounting, and strategy. You will not only grow our carbon credit business but also ensure that our climate impact is documented with full transparency. From building client relationships to shaping new carbon products, this role offers the freedom to drive innovation in one of the most dynamic markets of the climate transition.
Following tasks are in focus of your role
  • Carbon credit sales & client management: Maintain a strong sales pipeline, manage key accounts, and oversee our carbon credit inventory in CRM systems and registries.
  • Product strategy & marketing: Co-develop new carbon products (including combined biochar + carbon solutions) and support positioning through campaigns, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Partnerships & ecosystem: Build and manage relationships with standard bodies, registries, marketplaces, and other partners in the carbon ecosystem.
  • Carbon accounting: Oversee LCA/EPD modelling by external partners and ensure methodological consistency. Develop or supervise carbon footprints for products and clients, and provide reliable data for sustainability reporting and marketing.
  • Verification & audits: Manage carbon-related data, handle facility registrations, prepare PDDs (Project Design Descriptions), and coordinate third-party verifications and audits.
  • Methodology, compliance & policy: Track evolving regulations and standards relevant to carbon removal (ISO 14067/14064, EN 15804+A2, GHG Protocol, CRCF, Puro.Earth, Verra, Gold Standard). Engage with biochar-related policy discussions, participate in working groups, and contribute to Novocarbo’s position statements.
Your profile
  • Degree in business, environmental engineering, or sustainability
  • 3+ years of experience in carbon sales, carbon accounting, LCAs/EPDs, or product carbon footprints
  • Proven track record in client management and closing contracts, ideally with credit buyers or marketplaces
  • Familiarity with MRV, audits, and carbon registries (issuance, transfers, retirements), as well as ideally handling of PDDs, facility registrations, and third-party verification
  • Strong communicator: able to translate complex carbon topics into clear insights for clients, partners and  investors
  • Structured, empathetic, detail-focused, and proactive in building workflows across teams
  • Fluent in English (C1), German is a plus
  • Nice to have: Experience with biochar/pyrolysis, LCI databases
Why Novocarbo?

  • Impact & purpose: Work at a climate-tech company that actively contributes to the climate transition
